INTERSCT. Roundtable on standardisation and oversight related to CRA, RED3, etc. for IoT Product Security
Introduction
The digitalisation of our society, including our industry, is progressing rapidly and more and more products are becoming connected using the Internet. Such products with digital components will become subject to a range of new legislation and regulations with respect to cyber security (e.g. CRA, NIS2, MDR, RED3, UN R155) and many of these will also have serious implications for the companies designing, developing, deploying, operating, and maintaining these as well as their suppliers. And the fact that organisations conform to such legislation and regulations requires oversight. However, what should we change in industry, government, and society to ensure products and services to be used that are secure when acquired and remain secure while in use? What is your opinion?
During this INTERSCT. Roundtable, Wendy Tonks of INTERSECT partner OMRON Europe and Joepke van der Linden and Sander de Graaf of INTERSECT partner RDI (NCCA) provide their perspectives on the state of European standardisation respectively the state of Dutch national oversight related to new legislation and regulations such as CRA and RED3.
This INTERSCT. Roundtable is focused on the industrial INTERSECT partners and on other relevant public and private parties working on products with digital elements in one or more of the high tech industry sectors. Participants can only participate in the INTERSCT. Rountable is they provide a pitch presentation on their own issues related to these topics as input for the subsequent discussion. During these pitch presentations, participants should focus on (1) the most important cyber security ‘problems’ they foresee today and those that they foresee in the coming 5 to 10 years, and (2) their suggestions for ‘handling’ these.
For this INTERSCT. Roundtable we admit maximum 15 participants with a strong preferences for participants from industry and government. The event will be conform Chatham House Rule.
