INTERSECT will be presented at One Conference 2021

On 29 September, Professor Roland van Rijswijk-Deij and Dr. Luca Allodi will present INTERSECT the goals and the current status of the INTERSECT project at the annual international cybersecurity conference “One Conference”, to take place on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 September 2021 in the Netherlands.

Both speakers are part of the INTERSECT consortium. Roland van Rijswijk-Deij is a professor of measurement-based Internet Security at the University of Twente in The Netherlands, researching the security of core Internet infrastructures, such as the Domain Name System and Routing, and the transition of Internet trust infrastructures to quantum-safe cryptographic algorithms at an Internet-wide scale. Dr. Luca Allodi is an Assistant Professor in the Security Group of the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on vulnerability laws, with a strong accent on attackers’ behaviour and strategies.

Among the discussed topics, there will be also the work by Dr. Allodi on emerging criminal infrastructures, enabling Impersonation attacks at Scale (IMPaaS). Such attacks allow adversaries to systematically collect and enforce user profiles (consisting of user credentials, cookies, device and behavioural fingerprints, and other metadata) to circumvent risk-based authentication systems and effectively bypass multi-factor authentication mechanisms.
