Professor Bart Jacobs awarded with the Stevin Prize by NWO

Bart Jacobs, Professor of Security, Privacy and Identity at Radboud University Nijmegen, and a member of the INTERSCT Project, was honoured with the prestigious Stevin Prize by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) for his outstanding contributions to the scientific community. Upon delivery of the award, the committee described him as a brilliant scientific researcher with an independent mind who has for decades succeeded in conducting innovative research with enormous societal impact

About him

Professor dr. Bart Jacobs is one of the world’s leading scientists in logic and theoretical computer science. Besides being a full-time professor at Radboud University Nijmegen, he is also a part-time Professor of Design and Verification of Secure Software Systems at the Eindhoven University of Technology. 

He is part of many prestigious institutions, such as the Dutch Cyber Security Council, founder and chair of the Privacy by Design, and a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW) and the Academia Europaea.

He has also received two other awards for the societal impact of his scientific work over Science & Society: the Brouwer Prize and the Huibregtsen Prize.

About the prize

The Stevin Prize is an award and honour for researchers with international reputations who have achieved exceptional success in the area of knowledge exchange and impact on society. The award is given by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) to honour the social impact of scientific research.
